As usual this summer I play with the Concord Band for the summer concert series at Fruitlands Museum from June to July every Thursday from 7:15 PM to 8:30 PM. But the difference is this year I got to play a little solo piece the Tuba Tiger Rag! James O’Dell the music director of the band asked me in April to see if I wanted to play the piece in one of the summer concerts and I was more than happy to say YES! The first time I played this piece was in Taiwan in 1998. At that time I did it in a tour of three different places in the central part of Taiwan. It was an unforgettable experience because it was the first time to play a solo piece accompanied by band and after each concert audience liked it very much that at one of the three concerts I got to play it again as an encore! Since then I hoped to have a chance to play it again someday and the dream is finally come true after 18 years in the US! No need to say I will be more than happy to do it again and again!
